फिल्म ‘रॉकस्टार’ से बॉलीवुड में तहलका मचाने वाली एक्ट्रेस नरगिस फाखरी का जन्म 20 अक्टूबर 1979 को न्यूयॉर्क में हुआ था। नरगिस के पिता मोहम्मद फाखरी ने नरगिस की मां मैरी फाखरी को तलाक दे दिया था। तलाक के कुछ साल बाद ही मोहम्मद फाखरी का नि’धन हो गया था। नरगिस के पिता पाकिस्तानी थे और एक्ट्रेस के पास अमेरिकी नागरिकता है, जिसके चलते वो खुद को ग्लोबल सिटिजन बताती हैं।

हालांकि बाद में नरगिस ने बताया कि वो आर्सेनिक और लीड पॉय’जनिंग नाम की बीमारी से जूझ रही थीं जिसकी वजह से उन्हें देश छोड़कर जाना पड़ा। विदेश में नरगिस ने आयुर्वेद पर बेस्ड नैचुरोपैथी से इलाज किया और वो ठीक हो गईं। हालांकि नर्गिस का यूं बॉलीवुड छोड़ कर जाने की वजह अब तक सामने नहीं आई है। क्यास तो ये भी लगाया जाता है कि नर्गिस ने बॉलीवुड इसलिए छोड़ दिया क्योंकि उन्हें अच्छे प्रोजेक्ट्स नहीं मिल रहे थे।
